Your PDF stays on your device
Merging, reordering, rotating, deleting and extracting pages are done by your browser with open-source libraries (pdf.js and pdf-lib). The document is never uploaded for these tasks, so they also work with confidential files.
Word, Pages and Google Docs
“Convert to Word” rebuilds the paragraphs, tables and images of the PDF in a .docx file, which opens in Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, Google Docs and LibreOffice. Scanned PDFs become pages with images, because there is no text to recognise.

Frequently asked questions
How big can my PDF be?
Up to 200 MB per file for editing. Word conversion accepts up to 30 MB and 500 pages.
Can I edit password-protected PDFs?
No. Remove the password first. PDFs with permission restrictions can be converted to Word as they are, but not rewritten.
Does it add a watermark?
No. The PDF you download contains only your pages.
Are my PDF files uploaded?
Not to edit them: merging, reordering, rotating, deleting and extracting pages happen inside your browser and the file never leaves your device. Only “Convert to Word” sends the edited PDF to the Elysium server, which deletes it as soon as the Word file exists.
Is it free?
Yes, with no ads, watermarks; a verified account and an approved free license are required. Word conversion allows 10 documents per hour per visitor so the service stays available.
